Winter is hopefully drawing to a close (cue blizzards), spring and its accompanying green has yet to emerge and the sun is both high enough and low enough to make a difference to the light. This adds up to prime viewing time for the mottled bark of the Parrotia persica. It takes all my effort not to have a little pick at this splendidly flaky skin. Mostly I manage self-control, but not always.

Low sunlight does make for a wonderful photo.I spotted some moss in flower but it has been covered by a white blanket .
Snow?! How often does that happen down there?
