This week we have been re-covering the zigzag path up to the woods with the chippings which were delivered a couple of weeks ago by the tree surgeons. The photo above doesn’t show how steep and bendy (the clue is in the name) this path is in reality. Needless to say the chippings were located at the bottom of the path! A good run up , advanced level barrowing skills and a friend to push/pull appropriately were all necessary, especially towards the top. It was hard work but definitely worth it as now the yellow brick road (or yellow chip path which doesn’t sound as good) beckons upwards into the woods. Barely visible in the centre of this pictures is Drimys lanceolata which is in full bloom at the moment. This is one of the plants that I enjoy more in bud than flower but all the same it still look impressive.
