Rhodanthemum hosmariense – Moroccan Daisy

April13 (1024x768)A gloomy start to the day which turned by lunchtime to heavy rain, the first for a long time.  For once it was correctly forecast and if not exactly look fowarded to, not cursed either.  The garden certainly needed it, the borders beginning to look a little grey, the pots in the cold frames needing watering and the tanks in the greenhouse getting low.  All the same the gloom can quickly lower the spirits and it is plants like this little Moroccan daisy that can “relight my fire”.   It was planted out in the autumn and has come through this horrendous winter without turning an ear (or should that be leaf?) showing no damage at all.  It sat tight all winter holding onto its little black and white buds which started to bloom as soon as the first hint of spring arrived.  Definitely one to recommend.
