Bargain Basement

We love a bargain here at Cliffe, I’m sure this is not unusual.  Of course when said bargain is also a plant it is doubly satisfying.  We especially like to rescue poor neglected orphans from the sale section of garden centres.  We take them off to the home for wayward plants, put them into our rehabilitation unit and attempt bring them back to health, feeding them broth, sorry liquid seaweed, and giving them unconditional love.

This Gaura lindheimera “Cherry Brandy” was one of the rescued.   Native to Texas and Louisiana she is a true southern belle.

Mind you we don’t fall for all of their sob stories, some really are better off on the compost heap.
