An extremely miserable start to the day, both in mood and weather conditions. Then the sun came out and we all felt so much better, including this lovely little African Marigold, Calendula “Nova”, that has boldly over-wintered in the Road Bank border. Spurred on by this potentially fleeting dry period I planted out some ivy leaved pelargoniums on the edge of the Tennis Court Bank. Then visitors galore! Like the proverbial buses, R&P from up the hill arrived at the same time as the lovely cloggy branch of my family. We practiced cartwheels in big boots (alternative olympic event), explored the secret places, collected spent camellia flowers and cones, took photographs, chatted and inspected vegetables. I will leave you to work out who did what.
