A New Arrival or Six

Baby Banana

The Hedychium “Assam Orange” has eventually jettisoned its stems, all fallen in one foul swoop over night, lying in a dishevelled pile like giant pick-up sticks.  They have now been weeded and the stems piled on top of the rootball to protect it from the worst of the winter weather.    This dramatic decid has revealed that the banana behind has been quietly reproducing itself over the last few months.  In fact there are six shoots of various sizes coming up around the mother plant.  This one however is definitely was the cutest!
