This little minx is Aquilegia x caerulea “Sunshine”. Some may find her a little frivolous; today she was exactly what was needed to brighten an otherwise gloomy day.
Preparations for tomorrow’s HPS visit continued throughout the irritating rain. Even after last night’s showers the ground is bone dry under the surface. This meant that working the soil did not result in the creation of champion mud pies; although not best conditions for the gardener, the garden was not neglected. The good news is that the group wont be arriving until early afternoon so we will have another few hours in the morning for last-minute tweakings and deceptions. The bad news is that they will be visiting Marwood Hill Gardens in the morning which will put us to shame. Mode 3 “Que sera, sera”.
