Hot Stuff

2013-09-12 00.53.55 (1024x768)Today was a summer’s day straight out of fiction; The Famous Five, Swallows and Amazons, Cider with Rosie, The Darling Buds of May; the fantasy days which dominated our childhood holidays.  The warm sun was tempered by a fresh breeze coming off the sea bringing with it the sounds of the beach; raucous kayakers,  ecstatic children, excited dogs.  Walkers accelerated as they passed towards the bay, their pace quickening not only due to gravity but the prospect of a paddle in the soothing sea.  An infectious joy, making the most of this glorious weather and not worrying how long it will last.   Carpe Diem!

  1. It was manic this weekend in Broadstairs, which felt more like Benidorm than the Kent Riviera. I think you get a better class of tourist in Devon.

    • Lee Bay is rocky, with not much actual beach except at low tide, great for rock pooling and lots of kayaking and jumping up and down but not your classic sandy beach. A bit off the beaten track as well. Still very beautiful.
